Otu will deliver, Ayade assures as record crowd welcome APC campaign train to Biase, Akamkpa

The campaign train of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Cross River state Friday berthed in Biase and Akamkpa local government areas of the state with thousands of party supporters on hand to welcome it.

Addressing the mammoth crowd that thronged the campaign venues, Governor Ayade assured them that the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Bassey Edet Otu will consolidate on the gains of his administration, including his industrialization policy.

Describing the APC guber candidate as humble, competent and qualified, Ayade stressed that “Senator Otu is the best man for the job. He is the best Cross River needs to take over from me,” urging them to vote for all APC candidates from top to bottom ”

The governor reiterated his argument that in line with the Cross River governorship rotational principle, it was the turn of the Southern senatorial district of the state where Senator Otu hails from to produce the next governor and urged the people not to be deceived by those sowing the seed of discord in the state by not respecting the rotational principle.

“Bassey Otu is coming as a finisher and polisher. I have built the industries. He has the capacity to take them to the final end. I have taken Bakassi deep seaport to the point where it is ready for construction.

“Bassey Otu will continue putting food on the table and sustaining the institutions l have built.

“Bassey Otu is a decent man, a refined man who has a good heart”, Ayade told the crowd in Biase

He reminded them that he built a world-class Teachers Continous Training Institute, TCTI in the council area and pleaded they reciprocate the gesture by voting for all APC candidates.

On his part, Senator Otu assured the people he will complete all projects started by the Ayade administration.

At Akamkpa, Ayade asked the people to stand on the side of justice and fairness by insisting, through their votes, that it was the turn of the Cross River South to produce the next governor of the state.

“Tell your wives, children, and grandchildren to vote Back to the South”, he said.

Senator Otu on the other hand promised to restore electricity in Akamkpa within one month and upgrade the College of Education in the council if elected.

Monarchs and chiefs in the two councils had earlier endorsed and bestowed royal blessings on the APC candidates.

Assuring the governor of their support for governorship rotation to the Southern Senatorial district of the state, the Paramount Ruler of Biase, His Royal Majesty, Onun Apostle Nicholas Odum, said, “the seat is a routine. We cannot be misled. We are with you.

“In this Hall, Donald Duke handed over Liyel Imoke to us, in this Hall Liyel handed over You (Ayade) to us, and today you have handed over Bassey Otu our Governor to be to us and we will follow that”

On his part, the Paramount Ruler of Akamkpa, His Royal Majesty, Ntufam Emayip Clement Echi-atui speaking through HRM Ntufam Stephen Mbey, maintained that “We have been behind this government.

“From 2015 till date we have been loyal to this government. We pray for God to give us the wisdom to direct our people on what to do.

“We are not politicians we cannot tell our people what to do, but the government knows that we know what to do”
