Jedy Agba welcomes Ayade to APC
Honourable Minister of State, Power, Goddy Jedy Agba, OFR has congratulated and welcomed Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River State to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Governor Ayade, earlier, at the state executive Chambers, Governor’s office, Calabar, formerly announced his defection from the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP to the APC.
Ayade who cited the developmental strides of President Muhammadu Buhari as his reason for defecting was received by the Yobe State Governor and National Caretaker Committee Chairman of APC, Governor Mai Bala Buni and other APC Governors.
Reacting to the development, Agba said that the decision of the Governor to move to the APC with his supporters was a welcome development even as he promised to work with other leaders of the party to help the Governor settle in his new party.
He said that “the decision of my brother, the Governor of our dear state to join us in the progressive family is a welcome development. During my APC registration drive in the state about two months ago, I made it clear that our doors were opened and are still open for more People to join.
Politics is a game of numbers, you can’t win election without numbers and we want to win elections. Having the Governor and his supporters join our great party will surely add to the already bright fortune of our party ahead of future elections in the state.
“Now, we’re no longer an opposition party. We’re the ruling party in both Cross River and national. Cross River has never been known for being an opposition. So, with Ayade’s defection, the state has taken its rightful position.
We’re willing and ready to help the Governor and his team settle quickly into the progressive fold. They’re coming to join a different APC from what they used to know. We’re now more united, just, focused and determined to win elections. Everybody will be treated equally, because our party constitution grants every member equal rights and privileges”
