Gov Ayade leads tributes as Liyel Imoke buries mother-in-law

Senator Ben AyadeCross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade yesterday led in the tributes as his predecessor, Senator Liyel Imoke buried his mother-in-law, Noble Lady Grace Ifemdigbomma Ezi-Ashi in Illah, Delta State.
The event witnessed a huge turn-out of prominent politicians, including associates of the former governor.
They included for deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sir Emeka Ihedìoha, former Natìonal Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, Cross River State deputy governor, Professor Ivara Esu, Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, John Gaul-Leno and Mr Efiok Cobham, a former deputy governor of Cross River State.

In his condolence message Gov Ayade urged the family of the deceased to be consoled by the fact that she lived a worthy life.

According to him, “The loss of our dear mother is a great loss to the family, medical practitioners, today South East and South South communities at large. While we mourn with your entire family, be consoled that mama made her mark on mankind while on earth.

“Though death is inevitable, it is not a desirable experience especially when it involves someone close to us. I implore you not to despair in the face of this sad event, as mama has only moved to a better place of eternal rest.“On behalf of my family, the government and entire people of Cross River state, please accept my most sincere condolences on the home call of your mother inlaw. Please do extend our condolences to your admirable wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Obioma Liyel Imoke.”
