Cross River North Honours Ayade
Plans have been concluded by the people of Northern Senatorial district of Cross River State to host Governor Ben Ayade to a civic reception in acknowledgement of his good works and for being the first governor to emerge from that zone since the creation of the state in 1976.
Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Dr. Peter Ojie disclosed this while briefing journalists, yesterday in Calabar. On why the senatorial zone decided to host to the governor at this critical time when campaigns are heightened, Ojie said that the initiative was to express the sincere love they have for Governor Ayade who is the governor of the state.
His words: “The North has never been this lucky. It is a traditional hospitality of our people to host our governor. Just like we did for Donald Duke and Liyel Imoke.
“In keeping with the tradition of the people of the senatorial district, we have no choice other than to host our own.
“Cross River State has had about six governors and we have never had an opportunity to produce one. This is the first time our own is governor.”
