Ayade mourns Hon. Akwaji
Cross River state Governor, Sir Ben Ayade has expressed sadness over the death of the member representing Obudu State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Akwaji.
Ayade in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Christian Ita, commiserated with Hon. Akwaji’s family, the state house of assembly and the People’s Democratic Party in the state over the lawmaker’s demise.
The governor who described Akwaji’s death as a personal loss, said the lawmaker will be sorely missed.
“Hon. Akwaji left us when his experience and imput in the governance of the state were most needed. For me, this is a personal loss for Akwaji was not just a kinsman, he was my brother, my confident, political ally and my representative in the House of Assembly.”
He said the state “has indeed lost one of its finest breeds. My heart and my soul are heavy. Akwaji’s departure is too heart- rending to bear.”
Governor Ayade however, condoled with Hon.Akwaji’s immediate family, the entire Obudu state constituency and the People’s Democratic party, PDP in the constituency and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.

“Let us therefore, mourn like Christians, believing that our brother is now resting in the Lord’s bosom.”
