Ayade’s Good Works; Yakurr II Rerun Demystifies Facebook Politicians

nowLast Saturday, March 12, 2016, the re-run election for the Yakurr11 State Constituency took place with the three major actors representing three political parties contesting the only single slot.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has Bassey Utum Inah as its flag bearer; Labour Party has Capt. Eno Utum Inah, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has Eteng Jones Williams as its standard bearer.

At the end of the day, when the chips were down, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) gave out the result of the election which saw the candidate for the People’s Democratic Party, Hon. Eteng Jones Williams securing 4,380 of the votes to emerge the winner of the re-run election for the Yakurr11 state constituency.

Bassey Utum Inah of All Progressives Congress (APC) secured a total of 3,670 votes to come second while the Labour Party candidate, Capt. Utum Inah grasped the remaining votes of 2, 180 for his party.

The March 12, 2016 Yakurr11 re-run election result is a clear confirmation that the People’s Democratic Party administration in Cross River headed by a pragmatic leader, Senator Ben Ayade as the governor, is not only widely accepted by the people of Yakurr11, the entire Yakurr nation and Cross River, but that the people-oriented governance of Ayade is appreciated by the people.

From every indication, the good works of Senator Ayade in the state, his capacity for reaching out to all nooks and crannies of the state as well as Hon. Eteng Williams popularity contributed in no small measure to giving Williams and the PDP in the state the electoral victory in last Saturday’s re-run.

The electoral victory of the PDP candidate in the re-run is equally a clear indication that in this election, Cross Riverians have once again spoken that Cross River is PDP and that majority of the people belong to the umbrella family.

Saturday, March 12, 2016 Yakurr 11 re-run also showed that the people of the constituency know where their allegiance lies, that is, with Governor Ben Ayade and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The result of the election once again proved that the people of Yakurr 11, Yakurr nation as whole and Cross Riverians across the three senatorial districts of the state are completely at home with the pragmatic leadership of Senator Ben Ayade who is leading the state gradually out of perennial socio-economic and political obscurity to relevancy in the comity of states in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.

It is also a clear manifestation of the reality that the good people of Cross River actually appreciates the good governance of Ayade and his party, the PDP in the state and that they can see very lucidly the works of a party with a patriot at the helm of affairs in the state and other of his party men and women who are working at various levels to bring development and happiness to the people from unpatriotic and self-aggrandized individuals who sees nothing good with the efforts of others.

Indeed, the Saturday, March 12, 2016 re-run election in Yakurr 11 constituency is a further confirmation that those who callously strives to bring down the reputation of the governor and his team as well as the PDP in the state, endeavouring to create an unreal and mythical painting of the PDP led government programmes as of no consequence have been demythologized by the re-run.

Truly, it is the good works of Ayade that has motivated the people to re-enact with one voice what they did through their votes in the elections that gave Eteng Jones Williams the victory in the last year’s election, and the able representation of the Yakurr 11 PDP House member.

Infact the election have clearly differentiated between the Facebook political gladiators and the real leaders of the state who have concrete achievements for the benefit of the people before making them available to the traditional, online and any other platform. Truly, the Facebook political gladiators have been demystified.
