Ayade assures Cross Riverians of bumper 2020
In what could be described as his unremitting optimism about ensuring economic prosperity for the state, Cross River governor, Sir Ben Ayade has assured that 2020 will crystallize an industrialized Cross River State.
Ayade in his special New Year message signed by his Deputy Chief Press Secretary and Speech Writer, Mr Linus Obogo, noted that the herald of 2020 will mark the realization of a dream, the crystalization of vision as well as a collateralized future for a prosperous Cross River.
According to the governor, “2020 will mark a radical departure from our chequered past, as Cross River State will be fully industrialized and a proper and real economy will start to flourish.”
Stressing his determination to make the state a leading light among the comity of states in Nigeria and indeed Africa, Ayade intoned: “My promise to you is that Cross River State will be the torchlight for Nigeria and indeed Africa starting from the second quarter of this year. So indeed bumper package awaits the people of Cross River State.”
While doing a retrospection of the year gone by, Ayade quipped: “Seeing out a year gone by and ushering in a new one is always a moving experience. If we take stock of the year gone by, we have every reason to be happy as our expectations did not dim but fulfilled and our efforts at building a virile, stable and sustainable Cross River indicated a growth trajectory.”
While thanking Cross Riverians and yet rallying their continued support to actualize the dreams envisioned by his administration, the governor said: “Today, I thank you for standing by us so far and for the great support we have enjoyed from you. I also urge you to stretch your hands along with me that together, we can embrace a new dawn of greatness which is already upon us.”
Ayade who expressed confidence in the giant strides his administration has made in the last four years to reposition the state and decouple it from the federal allocations, said:
“As we begin yet another voyage into a New Year, we hope to take advantage of the unique opportunity it offers, to continue on our well charted path to our Promised Land.”
