Ayade in Abuja for crucial APC Governors’ meeting with PMB, says Cross River critical to national politics
Cross River state governor, Professor Ben Ayade Sunday departed the Magaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar for Abuja for a crucial, high level meeting of APC Governors.
Speaking to newsmen at the Airport shortly before boarding the waiting presidential jet, the Governor said he was hopeful of “returning with a lot of good news concerning all the issues that affect Cross River including some of our critical projects and our prospective ambition as a state in order to support the APC government to sustain power and to stay relevant in the government of the day.”
Ayade who, as the only APC Governor in the South-south geographical zone, is the leader of the party in the zone said the role of Cross River in the political equation of the country cannot be wished away.
His words: “It is important for me to make it very clear that Cross River State is the only APC state in the South South region. So our role and position is very critical to have a historical understanding of the power structure of this country and I will be there in Abuja to articulate the position of Cross River State in our great party.
“I hope to come back with big news for the state”
