2019:Group to embark on operation show your PVC and distribute free fuel for Ayade
To ensure the reelection of Governor Ben Ayade, and also boost the voting strength of Cross River State; a non governmental organization, Free Car Wash Campaign group, is to embark on a campaign ” Operation show your PVC ”
As part of this; the group will be giving out free fuel to motorists, kerosine to other individuals and also carry out free car wash services
The initiative is a sensitisation effort targeted at the electorates to encourage them to come out en-masse and ensure Ayade’s reelection and massive participation in the ongoing voters registration exercise.
Making the disclosure in Calabar ; the DG of the group, Portrait Peterson, said ” the campaign is a sensitisation exercise to mobilise electorates to register and collect their PVC”
In his words: ” the current sensitisation campaign is part of our mandate to enlighten, educate the people and also use the opportunity to appreciate the Governor for all his outstanding achievements in the state .
We are the only campaign group working with the grassroot.”
To this end, he said “the target is to ensure electorates come out in their large numbers to ensure Ayade’s reelection so that he can come back and complete all the good works he is doing in the state.
The governor has done a lot to improve governance in the state and he has empowered the youths and deserved our dear support.”
“Our gesture is to further show that the free car wash campaign group and its mandate is beyond political but altruistic and in the service of our state and nation.”
Portrait Peterson,who is also the initiator of the campaign, disclosed the group intends to distribute over 320,000 litres of free fuel across the 18 local government areas of the state.
According to him through the campaign the state government will be connecting with the grassroot as other items such as food, air freshener,T-shirt, and face cap will distributed freely.
“Through our campaign the state government will be showing appreciation to commercial drivers in the state who are part of our source of revenue generation for the state. So there is a need to celebrate them, hence the free fuel”. He added
It would be recalled that the group gave out 32,000 litres of free fuel to motorists in the state as part of celebrations of Ayade’s victory at the supreme court.
